History
of KD Civils Pty Ltd.
1996
During the construction of Riverwalk Mall in Potchefstroom, Mr J Kasselman and Mr CI Dunning got aquinted, during this project they decided to join forces and start their own construction company.
1997
A partnership was formed and they started working under the name K- Kasselman + D- Dunning = KD Civils.
2013
After 16 years of working as a partnership and KD Civils being established into a capable and the preferred contractor in North West, it was decided to resolve the partnership and to continue working in the construction industry under new entities, the partnership ended in January 2014.
2014-2017
In January 2014, Mr. JJ Kasselman initiated operations from his double garage under the name KD Civils Pty Ltd, a private company established in 2012 with an eye on potential projects in Lesotho. The official opening of KD Civils Pty Ltd's new offices took place in June 2014, attended by engineers, prospective clients, staff and suppliers. In November 2014, JJ Kasselman's son, J Kasselman, joined the company after completing his BCom degree at NWU. Working closely with JJ Kasselman, he began immersing himself in the civil and construction industry. J Kasselman assumed the role of director at KD Civils Pty Ltd in July 2017.
2018-2025
Our team rapidly expanded, and by the end of the 2025 financial year, we had 140 staff members. Over the past 11 years, KD Civils Pty Ltd has established a strong presence in both the civil and building sectors, boasting a CIDB grading of 9CE and 9GB, allowing us to bid on projects up to R 200 million. Our projects span North West, Gauteng, Northern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal, collaborating closely with local subcontractors and providing training, resulting in their CIDB level upgrades. We have been SANAS BEE Level 1 accredited since 2023 and remain committed to maintaining this standard.
